Round 2 for Denver Dispensaries Open on Thanksgiving and Green Friday
Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, marks the second Thanksgiving for Colorado’s recreational marijuana industry. Similar to last year, there will be those dispensaries that forego the holiday to serve customers and those that sacrifice a day’s sales to give the staff a break.
According to The Denver Post, from Nov. 24 – Nov. 30, Denver International Airport expects to see more than 1 million people pass through its gates. If you’re one of those travelers and you’re on the hunt for holiday bud, then you’ll need to know when and where you can restock your stash.
Setting the Table
The food is ready and you’re setting the table, but then you suddenly realize you’re fresh out of bud. This doesn’t have to be a problem because some dispensaries in Denver know you’ll need their services in a holiday emergency.
According to a spokesperson at Native Roots, a provider of medical and recreational cannabis, “We will be open on Thanksgiving Day to provide our patients and customers with the high quality product and shopping experience they seek to receive from Native Roots.” Native Roots will have its regular hours of operation at each of its locations.
Repeating its Thanksgiving schedule from last year, the Grass Station will be open from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
As you pull yourself out of your Turkey coma, you may want to revive yourself with a visit to a dispensary.
Native Roots will be having Black Friday specials Friday – Sunday; however, according to a company spokesperson, “offers are distributed only to our email subscribers via our newsletter, sign up at nativeroots303.com/newsletter.”
According to Ean Seeb, founder and owner of Denver Relief, “It will be business as usual on Friday. Just like REI, we think consumerism is a little out of hand in the US and we don’t wish to participate in the holiday we now call Black Friday.”
For cannabis consumers who would like to adopt the REI mindset, try pairing REI’s #OptOutside hashtag with the #ScenicTokers hashtag on MassRoots.
