San Diego approves new marijuana business regulations

San Diego’s City Council approved regulations to allow cultivation, testing, production and distribution of marijuana products by business operators that obtain conditional use permits. Such activities would be allowed in light and heavy industrial zones of San Diego, City News Service reported. According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, the council also:
  • Eliminated a proposed cap – two marijuana businesses per each of the city’s nine council districts – that would have allowed for only 18 businesses. Instead, the council set a citywide limit of 40 cannabis businesses.
  • Rejected a rule prohibiting marijuana businesses from operating within 100
