MMJ PhytoTech says on its website that it has seen “strong interest from retail customers,” The Independent reported.

The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) engaged in over 4,500 enforcement actions involving licensed recreational marijuana producers, processors and retailers from September 2014 to early July 2015, according to reports from the agency.

Georgia May Open Up CBD Program to Business Opportunities

Georgia is considering expanding its CBD program to allow for the production and distribution of cannabis-derived medicine, which could create opportunities for businesses to get involved.

A state medical cannabis commission is studying ways to provide CBD-based products to registered patients and determining whether Georgia should move forward in this regard, according to the Associated Press. The commission will make recommendations to state by the end of the year.

Georgia’s law allows for the possession and use of CBD oils, particularly for the treatment of seizure disorders. But there’s no way for patients to obtain the medicine without

Colorado Revises Proposed Edibles ‘Stop Sign’ Rule

Edibles companies in Colorado won’t have to stamp their products with a red stop sign after all.

Officials crafting new regulations on marijuana edibles initially proposed a rule that would have required manufacturers to include a symbol resembling a stop sign, emblazoned with the letters “THC,” on such products.

But they have since tweaked those plans. Instead of the stop sign, regulators now want edibles companies to use a diamond-shaped symbol with “THC” inside, according to revised draft rules released this week. The marking wouldn’t have to be red, either.

The change was made after edibles

Moratorium on Hemp Cultivation Licenses in Oregon

Oregon won’t issue any new licenses to grow hemp until March of next year at the earliest, the state’s agriculture department announced this week.

The agency also notified the 11 hemp growers with licenses that they won’t be allowed to expand their grow operations or add new farms to their existing permits, according to the Bend Bulletin.

That throws the future of those hemp operations into question, since some aren’t sure whether or not they’re allowed by state law to cultivate indoors during the winter, the paper reported.

To date, only nine of the 11 cultivators with licenses

Little Hope for Cannabis Legalization in UK Anytime Soon

Fat chance.

That’s essentially how government officials in the United Kingdom responded to a petition calling for the legalization of marijuana.

“Substantial scientific evidence shows cannabis is a harmful drug that can damage human health,” the government’s formal response to the petition reads. “There are no plans to legalize cannabis as it would not address the harm to individuals and communities. Cannabis can unquestionably cause harm to individuals and society.”

More than 200,000 people signed an online petition asking the government to “make the production, sale and use of cannabis legal,” noting that doing so could create 10,000
