California city approves massive marijuana facility

A Southern California town has approved a 489,000-square-foot medical marijuana cultivation and production facility that would make it one of the largest in the U.S. marijuana industry. The facility is to be built in Cathedral City, near Palm Springs, by Canada-based Sunniva Inc., which provides medical cannabis products and services. The first phase of the facility will be 325,000 square feet and could produce up to 177,000 pounds of flower per year.
